Choir Camp (Nov 2010)//Tuesday, November 16, 2010//1:26 PM
Thank you all for attending the Choir Camp. This camp would not have been possible without you and your active participation.
I hope that this camp was able to let everyone understand one another more. I also hope that this camp was able to determine the culture of our choir.
Our Culture: A gathering of people with a love for singing and know when to be serious and when to play our hearts out.
Discipline was generally good considering that we did not have to punish you to drive the point across. However, there is room for improvement. We'll work on that.
Everyone has grown over the year and I see a lot of you becoming more confident, both as a person and as a singer. As mentioned yesterday, I'll leave Mr Lim to develop you musically (He's done a great job at that) and your Teacher IC and I will develop all the other area (confidence and PRIDE.
I'd also like to thank your Sec 2 leaders for organising some of the events; Your Camp I/Cs Pat, Yvonne and Caroline for planning and running the whole camp and your Camp Seniors for being there for both you and me and for planning your night walk with such short notice.
Last but not least, your Teachers, Mr Lim, Mdm Rositah and Miss Lim for being there to train you and look after your welfare.

To All Sec 3 who attended the musical last night, I hope that this show opened up your eyes to the world of arts, stage and music. I hope that all of you felt that the money was worth it. Personally, I'd rather save up a whole year for money for movie tickets just to catch a musical.
The cast last light was spectacular. Each one of them was a strong and confident actor and singer. (this musical has lesser dancing) Other musical such as CATs and Fame would give you a more all rounded experience of a musical with Acting, Singing and Dancing.
Anyway, there are more good musicals out there, just to list a few.
The Phantom of The Opera

Le Miserables
Fame
Grease
Jesus Christ Superstar
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
The King and I
And many more fairy tale and books that have been made into musicals.
There are also Mandarin and Local Productions such as;
Snow Wolf Lake (Xue Lang Hu) By Zhang Xue You
November Rain (Yu Ji) By Liang Wen Fu
Chang and Eng
Fried Rice Paradise
and many more...
The tickets for musicals can be rather costly, but hope that you can keep your interest in musicals alive and watch as many as you can when you start to earn your own money or grab every opportunity when your tickets are subsidised. (like last night's)
